Jude Bell is perfectly content to live out the rest of his life in the woods of Southeastern Kentucky, making and smoking crystal meth. Jude doesn't really like people, and his PTSD makes him a danger to himself and others, resulting in a self-imposed exile to his family’s hunting cabin deep in the mountains. However, his idyllic life is interrupted when terrorists release a biological weapon, turning humans into the creatures from Jude’s childhood nightmares. Jude, along with several others—including socialite Imo Washington, will have to fight not only zombies but terrorists who are intent on rebuilding their version of the world. This is not the typical zombie novella as it focuses more on survival and character development. Warning: some graphic language and content is not appropriate for those under the age of 17.
