Late one winter night a little girl and her father go owling. The trees stand still as statues and the world is silent as a dream. Whoo-whoo-whoo, the father calls to the mysterious nighttime bird.
But there is no answer.
Wordlessly the two companions walk along, for when you go owling you don't need words. You don't need anything but hope. Sometimes there isn't an owl, but sometimes there is.

Wonderfully complemented by John Schoenherr's soft, exquisite watercolor illustrations, this is a verbal and visual treasure, perfect for reading alound and sharing at bedtime.

I used to read this book in 1st grade! I loved the art and the way she made the night look beautiful. This is a short story.
Would you ever want to go owling? If you do, you will like this book because a little girl went owling with her Pa. They were walking towards the woods and hen they reach the woods they heard a great horned owl. Then Pa calls back. You will have to read to find out what happens next? I recommend this book for all kids all ages. My favorite part is when they hear a owl.
My mom bought this book for me because we like owls. The little girl likes owling with her papa. I like how she is quiet to hear the owls talk.
