The New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water begins as two stories, told in alternating sections, about two eleven-year-olds in Sudan, a girl in 2008 and a boy in 1985. The girl, Nya, is fetching water from a pond that is two hours’ walk from her home: she makes two trips to the pond every day. The boy, Salva, becomes one of the "lost boys" of Sudan, refugees who cover the African continent on foot as they search for their families and for a safe place to stay. Enduring every hardship from loneliness to attack by armed rebels to contact with killer lions and crocodiles, Salva is a survivor, and his story goes on to intersect with Nya’s in an astonishing and moving way.

Truly a amazing book that made me cry. This poor boy in the book went through so much and yet he stayed on his path and his goal to find his family. This boy lost so much on the way, a friend even an uncle, and not once did he give up it makes you think and what is truly sad is this is based on a real story.

IS it good??😕i guss if it is true story then it will be vvvv great

I'm not into historical fiction...BUT this was good. Not my favorite, but good!

i loved the two stories and how they intract at the end. it was really good.

This was an amazing book about a boy from south sudan who takes a Long Walk to Water and eventually ends up in America.

A long walk to water is such a great book it makes you think of what you have and makes you think how lucky you are to have food and water and shelter every day unlike the characters in this book can you imagine walking across the country and how hard that would be but all I know is that you should read this book to find out

I really love it

Why do you love this book ?

I think this non-fiction book is very interesting because Salva did a good job after the War of Sudan. He was also in the 2008 story with Nya.

amazing book but a bit sad.

This a really well written book. When I heard about the story I was blown away how someone actually went through all those things and ended up solving a a lot of problems for other people in Sudan.
