In twelve-year-old Taemon’s city, everyone has a power called psi — the ability to move and manipulate objects with their minds. When Taemon loses his psi in a traumatic accident, he must hide his lack of power by any means possible. But a humiliating incident at a sports tournament exposes his disability, and Taemon is exiled to the powerless colony. The "dud farm" is not what Taemon expected, though: people are kind and open, and they actually seem to enjoy using their hands to work and play and even comfort their children. Taemon adjusts to his new life quickly, making friends and finding unconditional acceptance. But gradually he discovers that for all its openness, there are mysteries at the colony, too — dangerous secrets that would give unchecked power to psi wielders if discovered. When Taemon unwittingly leaks one of these secrets, will he have the courage to repair the damage — even if it means returning to the city and facing the very people who exiled him?

This book was really good. I thought it was a really good concept for a dystopian book and can't wait to read the sequel. The main character, Taemon, lives in a city where people have psychic powers. However, his brother starts trying to kill him in "accidents".
Taemon is a 12 year old who loses his psi and is sent to the "dud farm." But when he spills their secret, it is up to him to cover the damage.
I wouldn't recommend this book to any book lovers. My mom got mad at me for reading this book. Could be WWWWAAAAYYYY better. . . .
one of those really thought provoking books. It was fun, and ok. The title might make you think otherwise, but it was fun, as I said, and you should really read it.
Taemon lives in a world run by psi. Psi, as he once thought, was simply a telekinetic power. But Taemon can mind wander, a different form of psi. and learn things like how to get oxygen out of the water. when he refuses to kill his later evil brother, he loses his psi and goes to the powerless colony. there he learns how evil and corrupted his world is, and that hes brother is to be sacrificed.
This book is about a boy who lives in a world where everyone can move objects without using his hands. When he finds out he can't do it, he pretends that that he can. When Taemons brother finds out he can't move objects he does anything in his power to expose his secret. Does Taemon become a freakling
Taemon lives in a world where everyone has psi, or telekinesis. But he loses it because he almost kills his back-stabbing brother. He is separated from the psi world to a world without psi, like him. He discovers strange things in the colony, that urge him to save the city. For example, he learns he has another type of psi, and he is the True Son. He goes to the city with his friend to save everyone who hasn't mysteriously disappeared. He finds his brother as the True Son. He gets his psi back. And he saves the psi city. (Though everyone loses their psi, the telekinesis one.)
I guess this book was okay.... It was kinda confusing and I couldn't really figure out what was going on. If you want to read it, go ahead but I wouldn't really recommend it. :(
This book is very good. The trials the main character goes through are similar to things real life people go through, albeit without the science fiction elements. The only complaint I have is that the ending is too short. I would have like a few more chapters or an epilogue. A very good book overall.
